
IceHogs Will "Rock the Air" on Friday

Rockford, Ill.-- The Rockford IceHogs, Rockford MetroCentre, RAVE and SMG have joined the "Rock the Air" campaign to bring Embry-Riddle University to the Chicago Rockford International Airport.
The team will be promoting the city's bid for Embry-Riddle's third residential campus at Friday's preseason game. Representatives from the "Rock the Air " campaign will be at the game asking IceHogs fans to sign their petition. Anyone who signs the petition will get a free ticket to a select weekday home game during the regular season.
The IceHogs drop the puck with the Milwaukee Admirals at 7:05 p.m. at the Rockford MetroCentre. It is the final home game of the preseason as the team prepares to kick off their 12th season in Rockford and fourth as the primary affiliate of the Chicago Blackhawks.
The "Rock the Air" campaign was organized to encourage Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, a national leader in aviation education, to build a residential campus at Chicago Rockford International Airport. The site is one of three being considered for the school's third campus.

TRAINING CAMP DAY 3: ICEHOGS HOST PEORIA IN FIRST PRESEASON GAME TONIGHT
Rockford, Ill.- The Rockford IceHogs will play their first preseason game of 2010-11 tonight against the Peoria Rivermen at 6:35 p.m. at the Rockford MetroCentre. The Rockford Register Star and the IceHogs have teamed up to offer free admission.
Find a coupon in today's Rockford Register Star and present it at the Rockford MetroCentre before the IceHogs-Rivermen exhibition game. No ticket is required to gain access to the game.
The game will feature 10 training camp invitees who are all trying out for a roster spot with the IceHogs this year. In addition, Jonathan Carlsson, Brandon Bollig, Kyle Hagel and Joe Palmer will also play in tonight's game.
Tonight's game is the first of a franchise high four preseason tilts on the 2010 exhibition slate for the IceHogs. Rockford will also host the Milwaukee Admirals on Friday, Oct. 1 at the Rockford MetroCentre at 7:05 p.m.
Next Home Game: Saturday, Oct. 9, 2009 vs. Manitoba Moose. The puck is set to drop at 4:35 p.m. The IceHogs begin the 2010-11 season against the Manitoba Moose and the first 5,000 fans will receive a 2010-11 IceHogs Magnet Schedule courtesy of U.S. Cellular, Dental Dimensions, Guerilla Graffix and the Illinois Pork Producers. Before the game on Saturday there is a fan festival from 1-4 p.m. where fans can enjoy music, food and entertainment.
