Waterloo Black Hawks News Release
Waterloo, Iowa-As the nation commemorates Veteran's Day, the Waterloo Black Hawks and Fahr Beverage invite Cedar Valley hockey fans to support the Folds of Honor program with each home goal scored in Party Town during the 2015/16 season.
When Black Hawks score a goal at Young Arena, Fahr Beverage, the local distributor of Budweiser products, will contribute $25 to the charitable organization. Since 2007, Folds of Honor has provided thousands of scholarships and other educational assistance to those who have lost a parent or spouse while serving in the armed forces in the years since the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001.
"I hope fans will think of each goal our team scores as bringing a young person closer to his or her educational goals after losing a parent or loved one in the service of our country," said Waterloo Black Hawks Vice President of Sales and Marketing Joe Greene. "The Folds of Honor Foundation was established to make sure no family is left behind after making that sacrifice."
Black Hawks fans have the opportunity to join the cause by pledging any amount per goal. Pledges will also be accepted to correspond with each home goal scored by individual players. With a 25c per team goal contribution, approximately $30 would be raised by the end of the season. Waterloo has scored 15 home goals so far in 2015/16. Sign up to make a pledge or contribution of any type at the Express Employment Professionals Fan Service Table during Black Hawks home games at Young Arena.

This weekend, the Black Hawks will wear red, white, and blue jerseys during home games against the Bloomington Thunder Friday and Lincoln Stars Saturday. These sweaters will be auctioned at the end of the weekend, with profits benefitting the Sullivan-Hartogh-Davis Post 730 Honor Flight.
