Carolina Cobras News Release
GREENSBORO - The Carolina Cobras have announced that Proehlific Park will be their practice facility in 2018. The facility is located in Greensboro, North Carolina. Owner of the facility, Ricky Proehl, is a 2x Super Bowl Champion with the St. Louis Rams, during the "greatest show on turf" era (Super Bowl XXXIV) and Indianapolis Colts (Super Bowl XLI), where he played Wide Receiver for both super Bowl-winning teams. Proehl was drafted in the third round (58th pick) by the Arizona Cardinals. He played for the Cardinals from 1990-1994, Seattle Seahawks from 1995-1996, Chicago Bears in 1997, St. Louis Rams in 1998-2002, Carolina Panthers from 2003-2005 and the retired as an Indianapolis Colt after the 2006 Super Bowl-winning season.
"Being able to partner with a facility owned Ricky Proehl, a 16 year NFL vet, one of the games best route runners, and a key member of the greatest show on turf, Super Bowl champion St. Louis Rams lets you know this facility has everything an athlete needs to be successful," stated Cobras Head Coach Billy Back.
Prior to being in the NFL for 16 seasons, Proehl attended college at Wake Forest University from 1986-1989.
Since Proehl played with the Panthers and a Wake Forest graduate, he is familiar with the area, which is a big reason he chose Greensboro to build the facility. The Cobras, being in their first season, have an indoor practice football field, weight rooms, meeting rooms and basketball courts, which are all state of the art. Back continued, "Having our practice field and training facility all under one roof is beyond ideal for a professional team." Back enters his first season as the Head Coach of the Carolina Cobras for their inaugural season in the National Arena League.
The facility also features exercise classes, gym memberships, personal training, team workouts, adult sports, kids sports, and sports camps. Also, Proehlific Park has after-school activities for kids, summer blast, which is like a summer program, and even NFL Prep classes.
