Modesto Nuts News Release
Modesto, CA. - Correlle Prime was the hero in the Modesto Nuts 6-4 win over the Visalia Rawhide on Sunday night at John Thurman Field.
After the Rawhide (64-42; 22-14) tied the game on a passed ball in the top off the eighth, the Nuts (58-48; 25-11) put two runners in scoring position with no outs in the bottom half. Joey Krehbiel (L, 0-4) struck out the next two hitters and worked a full count to Prime. The Nuts' first baseman blooped a two-run triple down the right field line to break the tie and give the Nuts a four-game series split.
Matt Carasiti (S, 16/18) tossed a perfect ninth to give the Nuts a 2-2 start to their seven-game homestand.
Johendi Jiminian (W, 4-8) tossed four innings out of the bullpen, allowed three runs on six hits and struck out five. Kyle Freeland tossed four innings in his Nuts debut. The lefty allowed seven hits but only one run with three K's and no walks.
