Pride to participate in parade

FLORENCE, SC -- Members of the Pee Dee Pride organization will participate in the Darlington Jaycees Southern 500 Parade in Darlington this Saturday, August 31. The parade will start at 10:00 a.m. and will kick off NASCAR's racing weekend at "The Track Too Tough To Tame."

Veteran forward Allan Sirois, Director of Broadcasting and Media Relations Joe Babik and Equipment Manager Damion Parmelee will join mascot Paws in the parade. The parade will start at the intersection of North Spain Street and Cashua Street. The route will follow Cashua and wrap around the Courthouse Square before going down Pearl Street.

This year marks the 53rd running of the Mountain Dew Southern 500, which will take place on Sunday. Following the parade on Saturday, the Busch Grand National Series takes to the asphalt with the running of the South Carolina 200.
