
Generals Announce Exhibition Games

Greensboro, NC â The Greensboro Generals of the East Coast Hockey League (ECHL) have announced their exhibition game schedule for the upcoming season. The Generals will have just one home exhibition game this year, against their in-state rival Charlotte Checkers on Monday, October 7 at 7:30. The game will be played at the IceHouse, located at 6119 Landmark Center Blvd. in Greensboro. Tickets for the exhibition game are $5.00, but all season ticket holders will be able to get in for free.
For the second straight season, the Generals will also participate in a four-on-four round robin exhibition tournament. Greensboro will join the Checkers, the Roanoke Express, and the host Greenville Grrrowl on Saturday, October 5 for a full day of hockey that will run from 10:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m. with all games played on a two-hour time schedule. The Generals will go into the tournament as defending champions from last season. They are scheduled to play at 12:00 against Charlotte, 4:00 versus Greenville, and 6:00 against Roanoke. Admission for the tournament at the BI-LO Center in Greenville, SC is $5.00 for an all-day ticket.
The Generals have also announced their official training camp start date. The Generals will take to the ice for the first time under new head coach Rick Adduono on Monday, September 30 at 9:00 a.m. at the IceHouse.
Greensboro's season opener is slated for Friday, October 11 at 7:30 at the Lexington Men O'War. The Generals' home opener is Friday, October 25 at 7:30 against the Reading Royals. Opening night is Hooters Magnetic Schedule Night, with the first 2,000 fans entering the building receiving a Generals 2002-2003 schedule. The Generals are currently selling season tickets for all 36 home games for as low as $255.00 for goal view seats. Anyone purchasing season tickets will receive a season parking pass absolutely free while supplies last.
