Myrtle Beach Thunderboltz News Release

FLORENCE, SC – The Florence Pride announced today that they have traded defenseman B. J. Adams to the Mississippi Sea Wolves in exchange for future considerations.

The 27-year-old Adams spent the last two seasons with the Pride after being claimed off of waivers from the Jackson Bandits in October 2001. In 125 games with the Pride, Adams notched eight goals and 29 assists to go along with 211 penalty minutes. This past season, the blue liner scored five goals, matching his career total from the previous two seasons.

Adams played his rookie season in 2000-2001 with the Toledo Storm, registering 16 points and 110 penalty minutes in 69 games. Overall in 199 professional games, the Scarborough, ONT native has 53 points and 323 penalty minutes.

"B. J. is a good defenseman at our level," Pride Head Coach Perry Florio said. "However, I felt with the quality of the young defensemen we have coming in this year that this move will make us better in the long run."

Full-season tickets, mini-packages and flex-plan vouchers for the 2003-2004 season are now available. For more information, or to place your order, visit the Pride offices, located at the Florence Civic Center, or call (843) 669-7825.
