Pride Increase Division Lead, Head to Newark

American Defenders of New Hampshire News Release

The Pride earned their fourth straight victory last night, 9-4 over the Pennsylvania Road Warriors, sweeping Penn. out of town. The vagabond Warriors proved that they cannot be taken lightly, as they jumped out to an early lead in each of the three-games forcing the Pride to play catch-up. But when your lineup includes names like Damian Sapp, Glenn Murray and Mitch Meluskey playing catch up is a lot easier. Two HR's by Murray, and another by Garret Larkin lead the way in the victory from Nashua, who now lead the North Division by 5.5 games over Long Island and 6 games over Bridgeport, as both the Ducks and ‘Fish lost yesterday. Speaking of Sapp, he recently had a rare streak, as from June 10th through June 17th, Sapp managed seven hits, all home runs. It was not until a double on June 18th vs. the Warriors that his HR streak was snapped, and if anyone knows what the all-time pro record is for consecutive homers, please let us know.

Nashua is on the road for a brief trip through Newark against Rickey Henderson and the Bears, before returning home for a season-long nine game homestand against Pennsylvania, Camden and Bridgeport from 6/23 through 7/1. That homestand includes the return of Monkey Boy on June 25th, a pot-game fireworks show on June 27th, WMUR's Charlie Sherman Bobblehead Giveaway on June 28th, and the first visit of the year by former Red Sox star Jose Offerman when Bridgeport is at Holman Stadium from June 29th through July 1st.
