Bears Trade Tom Hage to Long Island

NEWARK, NJ, June 20-The Newark Bears announced today that the club has traded first-baseman Tom Hage to the Long Island Ducks for financial and future player considerations. Hage previously played with the Ducks during the 2001 season.

The 28 year-old Hage was a member of the Bears 2002 Atlantic League championship team. He batted .294 in 94 games with the Bears last season and had 20 home runs, 23 doubles and 74 RBI.

This season, in a part-time role, Hage was batting .225 with 1 home run, 7 doubles and 14 RBI in 102 at-bats. On May 2nd in a game against Bridgeport, Hage tied the Bears team record for most hits in a game with five.
