Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC News Release
PITTSBURGH - Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC (4-0-5) gears up for the second round of the Keystone Derby Cup, presented by K&L Gates and the Pennsylvania Lottery, hosting Penn FC (2-3-4) at 7 p.m. on Saturday at Highmark Stadium.
GAME NOTES
Playing their second game this week, the Hounds will look to rebound from their first defeat of the season, dropping a 3-1 result to FC Cincinnati on Wednesday in the Third Round of the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup. Despite the defeat, the Hounds remain unbeaten in league play and are in the midst of their best start in club history with a nine-game unbeaten streak to date.
Tomorrow night's match marks the second of three meetings between Pittsburgh and Penn FC this season - the first being a nil-nil draw in late March. The early season tie ensured for the fourth straight season the Keystone Derby will be decided in the final match between the two sides, coming on Sept. 26 in Harrisburg.
Defense is expected to be a dominant theme in round No. 2, as the Hounds are tied for the league lead in shutouts (six) and goals allowed (five), while Penn FC is not far behind with four clean sheets and seven goals allowed. Pittsburgh currently has shut out Penn FC in four straight matches dating back to April 29, 2017.
The Hounds will be debuting their black kits in tomorrow's action, as the club plans to #BlackoutHighmark and encourages all fans to wear black in support. Tickets for the match are still available and can be found by visiting Riverhounds.com. Additionally, the club's ticket and t-shirt "blackout" special for only $25 will remain active online until noon tomorrow.
For fans unable to make the match, catch all the action live on ESPN+ and follow along with up-to-the-minute stats at USL Match Center.
