Penn FC Forward Tommy Heinemann Announces Futsal Clinic

May 25, 2018 - United Soccer League Championship (USL)
Penn FC News Release

Penn FC is excited to announce a series of futsal clinics within the Harrisburg community. Penn FC, Rush Soccer's First Team, has partnered with The Friendship Community Center to host monthly clinics. The Friendship Community Center is located in Lower Paxton Township and boasts premier indoor and outdoor facilities.

The program, led by forward Tommy Heinemann, will be an all-inclusive program and an experience kids won't want to miss.

"Our goal is to connect with youth across this region," Heinemann said. "Penn FC is this region's professional soccer team and we couldn't be here without the support from people across the greater Harrisburg area. We are blessed by this incredible opportunity to impact youth through this program and show them what it's like to be a professional soccer player. These clinics will provide a high energy, enthusiastic atmosphere the boys and girls will not forget."

Futsal is a variation of traditional soccer, played on a hard court instead of grass and usually indoors.

Each Pro Clinic will involve a training session with Penn FC's pro players. Each player will have the opportunity to learn from professional athletes, gaining an understanding for what being a professional soccer player is like.

Each registrant will receive a Penn FC training top, a ticket to a Penn FC game and will take part in an autograph/photograph session with Penn FC's professional players.

The Friendship Center's staff of Rachelle Scott, Justine Walters and Joc Grant have all been advocates for this program. They believe this is an excellent opportunity for their members and residents, as well as those that aren't familiar with Friendship Center's premier facilities.

"The Friendship Center is excited about partnering with Penn FC to host monthly Futsal Clinics with the community. Working together on this program gives a great opportunity to the members of our Lower Paxton Township and the greater Harrisburg community to personally connect with our own professional soccer team. These moments build memories for kids that can last a lifetime, and this aligns with our motto of making every day the best day ever!"

The first of Penn FC's community clinics is Sunday, June 24 from 12:15 PM to 2:15 p.m.. It will be followed by a clinic in each of the next three months (July 22, August 5 and September 23). Early registration is encouraged, as each clinic will be capped at 45 kids to start. The clinic is open to boys and girls ages 6-15 and will be suitable for players of all skill sets.
