Real Monarchs News Release
HERRIMAN, Utah - Real Monarchs SLC (8-1-1, 25 points, 1 West) are set to travel to Portland, Oregon for a meeting with Portland Timbers 2 on Saturday, May 26 in a Western Conference battle between two of the United Soccer League's most potent offenses. Kick off from Providence Park is set for 3:00 p.m. MT as Head Coach Mark Briggs aims to extend his team's lead atop the Western Conference summit.
Coming off a 2-0 victory over Lights FC in Las Vegas last weekend, the Monarchs look to gain three more valuable road points to continue its separation from the rest of the league with yet another victory. Against Lights FC last Saturday, MF Josh Heard scored a goal and had a game-winning assist to MF Sebastian Velasquez to earn his place on the USL's Team of the Week for Week 10. GK Jake Leeker made his second consecutive start in the victory, earning his second shutout in as many games.
