The Charlottetown Islanders didn't end Friday night on a high note, and will be looking to right the wrongs of the night before with another key Maritime Division matchup against the Moncton Wildcats.
The Islanders (18-26-5-1) held the lead late into an important matchup against the Saint John Sea Dogs; however, a highlight reel goal from Pavel Simek and an ill-timed penalty in overtime led to the Sea Dogs stealing two points from the Islanders in the extra frame. Despite the loss, the Islanders did pick up a crucial point in the standings; they're now in a three-way tie with the Cape Breton Eagles and Val d'Or Foreurs for 14th in the QMJHL standings.
Meanwhile, the Wildcats (24-23-0-2) are back in the win column after a six-game losing streak. Moncton have picked up two wins this week, including a 5-0 victory over the Acadie-Bathurst Titan just last night.
