FC Tulsa News Release

TULSA - Momentum: good guys.

After the longest road trip of the season ended with three tough losses, FC Tulsa exploded back into form in front of the Tulsa crowd with a whirlwind 4-3 victory against Sporting Kansas City II. Goals from Rodrigo da Costa, Marlon Santos, Darío Suárez and a returning Joaquín Rivas resulted in the first four-goal team performance of the FC Tulsa era. Two late goals by Sporting KC II cranked up the intensity for the six minutes of stoppage time, but FC Tulsa closed out the match and took all three points.

Saturday evening presents a new Central Division matchup for the black and gold, as FC Tulsa has not faced off against Louisville City FC in six years, since playing twice in the then-Roughnecks' first season in the USL Championship. In those two matches, FC Tulsa lost in Kentucky, then drew 2-2 at ONEOK Field.

ABOUT LOUISVILLE CITY FC

Entering Saturday with a two-match win streak, both Louisville City FC and FC Tulsa will be looking to complete a double this week, as both squads won matches on Wednesday. Louisville City FC sits one spot ahead of FC Tulsa in the Central Division table, with just one point separating the two. Overall, LouCity sports a 4-2-1 record at this point in the season. The club's top scorer is Cameron Lancaster with three goals, while five different players have recorded one assist this season. Goalkeeper Chris Hubbard has three clean sheets to his name, with five goals conceded and ten saves.

LOUCITY COMES TO TULSA

It has been six years since Louisville City FC and FC Tulsa met on the pitch, as Saturday night will represent the first of four matches between the clubs this season. Louisville and the then-Roughnecks played twice back in Tulsa's inaugural USL Championship season with Louisville winning at home early in the season before the teams drew 2-2 at ONEOK Field in mid-August.

HOME COOKING AT ONEOK

FC Tulsa has been stellar at ONEOK Field in the new era of the franchise. In 10 home matches since the start of the 2020 season, Tulsa has gone 6W-1L-3D and is currently riding a seven-match unbeaten streak that includes an active run of five straight wins. Both the home unbeaten and winning streaks are the longest in franchise history for FC Tulsa.

DA COSTA DA MAN

Midfielder Rodrigo da Costa has enjoyed his two regular season matches at ONEOK Field so far in 2021. FC Tulsa's all-time leader in combined goals and assists (XX) has recorded both in each of Tulsa's two home matches. Da Costa has recorded one goal and one assist in each of Tulsa's last three home matches (dating back to 2020) and has been named the Man of the Match in all three.

MURAL KIT MAKES ITS DEBUT

FC Tulsa's just announced Mural Kit will make its on-pitch debut against Louisville City FC on Saturday night. The kit is inspired by the club's Mural Project at Monroe Demonstration Academy in North Tulsa, an under-resourced area. Represented on the kit are portions of each of the four murals, painted on the walls of Monroe, bringing to life the four core values of the students: Empowerment, Responsibility, Community and Excellence. A portion of the proceeds from the sales of the kit throughout the season will be donated back to the students at Monroe.

FIRST FOUR-GOAL FRENZY

FC Tulsa has built on defense throughout the new era of the franchise, but it needed all four goals on Wednesday night against Sporting Kansas City II to snag the three points. It was the first time as FC Tulsa that the club had scored four goals in a match. It appeared to be a rout as the match was 4-1 entering the 87' minute, but two late Kansas City goals slimmed the final margin to one.

FC TULSA CERVEZA ON TAP

A yet-to-be-named FC Tulsa cerveza from Cabin Boys Brewery is now on tap at ONEOK Field for FC Tulsa's home matches. The light, crisp lager has a hint of tortilla and citrus with a 4.4 ABV. Currently FC Tulsa is taking name ideas from its fans. The club will take the best 3 or 4 name suggestions and have its Season Ticket Members vote on the final name of the brew over the next few weeks.

HOW TO TUNE IN

The match will be broadcast on TV locally on My41 Tulsa and nationally on ESPN+. Fans around the world can watch for free on YouTube. Follow @FCTulsa on Twitter, Instagram or Facebook for updates and highlights throughout the match.
