
Preview: Toros Hit the Road for Third South Texas Derby Meeting with San Antonio

EDINBURG, Texas - Rio Grande Valley FC (5-2-1, 16 pts.) will play the third matchup of the season against San Antonio FC (2-2-4, 10 pts.) on Saturday, June 19 on the road. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. CST.
RGV FC: After a late goal struck to give the Toros their first loss at home, RGV FC is looking to regroup and face one of the toughest opponents to beat as a visitor. Alexis Cerritos scored his first career goal on Wednesday against Austin Bold FC. Collectively, the Toros have scored 11 goals while being able to shoot on target 32 times. Defensively, RGV has kept three clean sheets and conceded seven goals throughout eight games, averaging 0.9 per game. Though the midweek match was a tough loss, RGV FC was able to create opportunities and open the field but were not able to finish off the attempts had. Last match at Toyota Field, the Toros came home with a point, on Saturday, they are looking to bring back three points to the Valley.
SAFC: San Antonio shapes up for Saturday after a midweek road match at New Mexico United, falling 2-0 as a visitor. SAFC is one of the most difficult teams to play at home, mainly due to their fan support and stadium atmosphere. Santiago Patiño continues to lead their squad with five goals, adding 11 total shots and has been able to create four opportunities for San Antonio. Cameron Lindley leads with 14 created chances and has contributed an assist. On goal, Matt Cardone has totaled 26 saves while conceding 10 goals. Collectively, the squad has scored 11 goals, while having 38 shots on target.
