Oakland Roots Latest News:
Oakland Roots are set to play their first game this season at Laney College Stadium in front of a sold out home crowd. New Roots owner Marshawn Lynch will be in attendance and Oakland born singer Goapele will be performing as part of the pre-match festivities. The game marks the first time Oakland born players Max Ornstil, Saalih Muhammed, and Tarn Weir will get to play in their home town as part of the USL Championship.
Despite controlling possession in their last match against Orange County SC, Roots were unable to come away with a win. The team looks to bounce back with their second win of the early 2021 season in front of home fans.
Roots goalkeeper Zeus de la Paz returns from international duty with Curacao after facing Panama in the second round of World Cup qualifying. With his return, goalkeeper Luis Barraza has headed back to New York City FC after being signed on loan and appearing in the last two games for Oakland. This is the second time this season Roots are facing Sacramento Republic. The two sides recently drew 3-3 in an exciting back-and-forth match in Sacramento.

Sacramento Republic Last Starting XI:
Tomás Gómez, Nabilai Kibunguchy, Duke Lacroix, Mitchell Taintor, Hayden Sargis, Andrew Wheeler-Omiunu, Tucker Bone, Jaime Villarreal, Petteri Pennanen, Rafael Jauregui, Dariusz Formella
