
Prades Delivers Walk-Off Winner

SPRINGDALE, AR - Yem Prades delivered three hits including a walk-off single in the bottom of the tenth inning, as the Northwest Arkansas Naturals topped the Arkansas Travelers 6-5 on Thursday night at Arvest Ballpark. The win keeps the Naturals just one game behind the Tulsa Drillers for the top spot in the North Division.
The Naturals offense got on the board first in the bottom of the first inning. Prades led off the inning with a single, and then stole second. He later scored on an RBI single by Christian Colon to make it 1-0. Rey Navarro led off the second inning by reaching on an error and later scored on an RBI single from Nick Van Stratten to make it a 2-0 game.
The Arkansas Travelers got right back into the game picking up two runs in the top of the third inning getting a two-run home run from Ryan Mount. The home run was the third of the year by Mount and gave the Travs and knotted the game at two.
Johnny Whittleman ripped a two-out double in the bottom of the third inning his 17th of the season. Sharlon Schoop followed with a two-out RBI to give the Naturals a 3-2 lead. The Travs retook the lead getting two runs in the fifth inning against Naturals' starter Chris Dwyer. Renny Osuna and Mount each notched an RBI single to give the Travs a 4-3 lead.
Whittleman again turned in a huge at bat working a bases loaded walk to pull the Naturals (31-27) even at four. Rey Navarro came through in the eighth inning collecting an RBI single against the Travs' Mike Piazza to put the Naturals on top 6-5. The Travelers struck back in the top of the ninth. Jean Segura came through with two-outs in the ninth inning with a single to drvie home Jimmy Swift and retie the game at five.
The tenth inning began with Ryan Chaffee (0-1) walking Navarro and then allowing a single to Paulo Orlando. Van Stratten was out on a sacrifice bunt, and Rodriguez followed by grounding into a force out at home plate. Prades hit a slow roller to third base and beat it out for an infield single to score Orlando and give the Naturals a 6-5 win.
Bryan Paukovits (2-0) worked two-thirds of an inning, notching two stikeouts to pick up the victory. The Naturals have now won five straight games, after sweeping the Frisco RoughRiders on the road and then taking the first two games against the Travs (23-35).
The same two teams will play game three of the four game set on Friday night. Left-hander Noel Arguelles (2-5, 6.75) will take the mound for the Naturals against the Travs Ariel Pena (3-4, 3.45). First pitch is at 7:05 PM. and the game can be heard on ESPN 92.1 The Ticket.
