Allen Americans News Release
Wichita, Kansas - The Allen Americans made it a weekend sweep of the Wichita Thunder with a 4-1 win on Sunday afternoon at Intrust Bank Arena.
Greger Hanson scored his team leading 14th and 15th goals of the season, both on the power play, as the Americans were a perfect two for two on the man-advantage. Hanson leads the Americans in power play goals this season with five.
"It was a good win for us," said Hanson. "We got great goaltending from Jamie Murray and we made the most of our special teams to get the win. They have a good team over there. They have a lot of skilled players on their roster."
Chad Costello netted his 13th of the season, finishing the game with four points, while Brian Moore scored his third of the year. Costello extended his point streak to nine games, which equals his season high. Jamie Murray, who was voted the number two star of the game, stopped 42 of 43 Wichita shots.
"Jamie was spectacular tonight," said Americans Co-Captain Chad Costello. "He was playing with a lot of confidence out there and it showed. "We have two guys playing great between the pipes right now and that gives us a chance to win every night."
The Americans return to action on Tuesday night in Tulsa at 7:05 PM. The Americans will host the Idaho Steelheads next Thursday and Friday at Allen Event Center. Tickets are on sale NOW at www.allenamericans.com .
