POWER REPLAY: West Virginia fell 7-5 Friday night at Hickory. The Power built a 5-0 lead with a two-run first and a three-run third. The Crawdads tagged West Virginia starter Tyler Waldron for four in the fourth, and plated three against reliever Brooks Pounders in the seventh. Cole White drove in two, while Rogelio Noris hit a three run home run to provide all the Power run support. Pounders took the loss for West Virginia, which saw its five game winning streak snapped.

FIRST! The Pittsburgh Pirates called infielder Chase d'Arnaud up to the active major league roster on Friday and he went 1-3 with a triple in his Major League debut last night. d'Arnaud is the first player who spent time in West Virginia to be promoted to Pittsburgh since the Power became an affiliate of the Pirates prior to the 2009 season. The shortstop hit .291 for West Virginia in 2009 over 62 games, batted .247 for Altoona last year, and was hitting .280 for Indianapolis this season. d'Arnaud is the 18th player to suit up for the Power and a Major League club. The first 17 saw time with West Virginia while they were a Milwaukee Brewers affiliate from 2005 to 2008.

CLIMBING THE CHARTS: Rogelio Noris hit 15 home runs for West Virginia during the 2010 season and has added six to that total so far this season. Stephen Chapman holds the single-season record with 24, which is also the most by any player during his respective stint with West Virginia. Noris ranks third all-time in Power history with 21 career home runs, trailing only Chapman and Kenny Holmberg (22 home runs over two seasons).

ROSTER MOVES ROLL ON: Pittsburgh made three moves that affected the Power roster on Friday. The Pirates promoted reliever Porfirio Lopez to the Bradenton roster today and replaced him with left-hander Justin Ennis. In addition, Chase Lyles was activated from the Temporary Inactive list.

QUALITY APPROVED: Colton Cain has seven quality starts this season, including six in a row. The southpaw has tossed six complete innings in each of his last six outings and has a combined earned run average of 2.50 during that stretch.

FLASHBACK: West Virginia finished the first half of the 2011 regular season with a winning record. In 2009 during the first year as a Pirates affiliate, the Power were 27-43 at the All-Star break with a team batting average of .254 and held a staff earned run average 4.66. At the break during the 2010 season, the club was 31-39 with a .235 average and a 4.28 ERA. West Virginia hit .258 as a team during the first half of this season and had a staff ERA of 3.68.

HISTORY VS. HICKORY: West Virginia and Hickory play game three of this four game set tonight. The Power and Crawdads are scheduled to meet a total of 11 times this season after playing seven times all of last year. The Crawdads won the 2010 season set 4-3. West Virginia leads the all-time series 43-28 dating back to 2005.

POWER POINTS: Drew Maggi had seen action every game since May 2, a streak of 45 consecutive games before being rested on Friday... Dan Grovatt went 0-2 in Tuesday's SAL All-Star Game, while Brandon Cumpton tossed one scoreless inning... Former Charleston Charlie and Pittsburgh Pirate Kent Tekulve will appear at Appalachian Power Park on July 1.

AROUND THE ORGANIZATION: Pittsburgh beat Boston 3-1... Indianapolis lost 12-3 to Pawtucket... Altoona lost 2-0 at Harrisburg in 10 innings... Bradenton upended Fort Myers 16-5... State College split a doubleheader at Jamestown, losing game one 2-1 and winning game two by a 4-1 final.

ON THE AIR: All 140 West Virginia Power games can be heard on ESPN 104.5 FM and 1490 AM in Charleston, WV, across the state on the Power Radio Network, and online at milb.com. Adam Marco will call the action for each of the 70 home games this season, while the home team will provide coverage while the Power are on the road.
