Charleston Dirty Birds News Release

Charleston, WV (March 30, 2012) - The West Virginia Power announced several major changes to Appalachian Power Park this morning. The concept and management team will change in both the immediate and short term future for the Power Alley Grill. The Grill's full-time commitment to catering last fall created an opportunity to add a new meeting and catering space that overlooks the field from the suite level and ultimately led to a partnership with a new restaurateur.

The team reached a management agreement with a prominent local businessman to create an upscale family restaurant that is set to open this fall. "We shifted our focus to catering full-time last fall because it complements our expertise in group sales, event planning, and marketing. The success of our catering sales efforts lead to the creation of a meeting and entertainment space that overlooks Appalachian Power Park's playing field. When word got out about our change, we were approached about an exciting new restaurant in the former Power Alley Grill" state Executive Vice President Andy Milovich.

The space formerly occupied by the Power Alley Grill won't be empty during this baseball season. The Power has reached a partnership with Quaker Steak & Lube to manage the space on game nights and expects to offer lunch during the week. "The Quaker Steak & Lube will feature a streamlined menu that has been successful in other stadium environments. We think the Lube is a great fit and are very excited to work with them this summer. I'm hopeful it could lead to a facility within the ballpark as they have in PNC Park and that Appalachian Power Park could permanently showcase two great restaurants and an incredible banquet space in Charleston's East End," said Milovich.

The Power announced the creation of The Suddenlink Legends Club at Appalachian Power Park earlier in the week. The Suddenlink Legends Club will be used for a new club season ticket package that includes 15 games throughout the season, meeting and catering space, and private group functions in conjunction with events at the ballpark.

Fans can get a sneak preview of the Suddenlink Legends Club with tours that are available during the Team's Ticketpalooza on Saturday, March 31, at 10:00 AM when single game tickets are made available to the public.
