JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - The Jacksonville Suns, Double-A minor league affiliate of the Miami Marlins, announced today that P Omar Poveda has been suspended for five games for violation of club policy, effective Thursday April 26, 2012. No corresponding move has been announced, the Suns roster will remain at 24 out of the possible 25 maximum for the time being.
Poveda, has made four starts in 2012 for Jacksonville and compiled a 2-1 record with a 4.34 ERA. In 18.2 innings pitched he has struck out 13 and walked eight.
