April 26, 2012 - Southern League (SL1)
Mobile BayBears News Release

The Mobile BayBears fell 8-7 to the Chattanooga Lookouts in 12 innings at AT&T Field Wednesday night. Despite coming back from being down 5-1 in the seventh inning and taking a two-run lead in the top half of the 12th, Mobile could not hold Chattanooga off in the bottom of the 12th as the Lookouts scored three runs to beat Mobile in the first extra innings game of the season.

Mobile rallied from a 5-1 deficit in the seventh inning. Krauss lead off the seventh with a double, then advanced to third base on a Yazy Arbelo ground out. With two outs and a runner at third, Ed Easley drew a walk then scored in the next at-bat when Kyle Greene tripled, scoring both Krauss and Easley to make it 5-3. David Nick put the BayBears within one, with a single that drove in Easley. Wladimir Sutil completed the comeback with a double that plated Nick and tied that game at five.

Krauss put the BayBears on top in the 12th inning, driving a two-run double to give the BayBears a 7-5 advantage. In the bottom of the 12th inning, right-hand reliever Kevin Munson gave up three runs, including the Lookouts' winning run on a ground ball to Yazy Arbelo at first base. Munson suffered the loss after throwing 1.2 innings, walking three batters, giving up three hits and the three decisive runs.

Mobile and Chattanooga continue play with the second game of the series on Thursday night at 6:15 PM. RHP Trevor Bauer (4-0) takes the hill for Mobile.
