Frederick, MD -- The Keys came out swinging early, but the Nationals struck hardest with a 10-run fifth inning and six more in the ninth to deflate the Keys, winning 22-6 to take three of four games in the series.

Early home runs from Pete Maestrales and Bryan Bass did not stand up, as Keys' starter Luis Ramirez allowed nine runs through 4.1 innings, while Russ Petrick allowed six runs in 0.1 of an inning. The Nationals' Marcos Yepez became the first opposing player to hit for the cycle since Scott Seal did it for Salem in 2000.

After the feel-good win on Saturday night the Keys offense picked up where it left off, as Paco Figueroa hit a one out triple, then scored on Jake Duncan's ground out to give the Keys a 1-0 lead.

Potomac would answer in the top of the second inning when Brandon Powell hit a lead-off home run. But in the bottom half of the inning Pete Maestrales hit a two-run home run and Bryan Bass added a solo shot of his own to give the Keys a 4-1 lead.

In top of the fourth inning the Nationals closed the gap to a run when Marcos Yepez hit a two-run homer off Luis Ramirez, his fourth of the year. An inning later Potomac would break out for 10 runs, the most runs scored against the Keys in an inning this season. Devin Ivany homered and later hit an RBI double in the inning for the Nationals.

Maestrales moved from right field to the pitcher's mound after Trevor Caughey allowed a run over 2.1 innings, and tossed a scoreless inning before Potomac would plate six runs in the top of the ninth.

Maestrales would exact a bit of revenge in the bottom of the ninth inning with a solo home run, his second homer of the game. Travis Brown would also single to score Mike Russell, but it was too late for the Keys, who fell 22-6.

Ramirez (3-5) takes the loss, allowing nine runs on six hits, while walking three.

Clint Everts (2-5) earned the win allowing four runs on eight hits over 6.0 innings.

The Keys will have Monday off before traveling to Winston-Salem to take on the Warthogs in a three game series. The Keys return home on Monday, June 19th to start another three game series with Winston-Salem. Tickets are still available by calling the Keys Box Office at 1-877-8-GO-KEYS or by visiting www.frederickkeys.com.
