Potomac Nationals 2016 Game Notes at Winston-Salem Dash
May 13, 2016 - Carolina League (CarL1)
Potomac Nationals News Release
Following a second walk-off loss in a span of three days, the Potomac Nationals (17-14) look to get off to a good start in their first series vs. the Winston-Salem Dash (12-22). Despite a 4-6 record in their last 10 games, the P-Nats remain just four games out of the Northern Division lead following Lynchburg's sweep at the hands of the Salem Red Sox.
Potomac will send RHP Phillips Valdez (4-1, 3.79) to the mound, as he will face off with Dash's RHP Jordan Stephens (0-4, 5.40). Valdez leads the team in wins and has the best ERA among qualified starters on the Potomac staff. Stephens, a fifth round pick out of Rice in 2015, has pitched more than four innings just once in his first six starts of the season.
First pitch of the series opener at BB&T Ballpark is set for 7:00pm in Winston-Salem, NC
