The Des Moines Buccaneers will be home at Buccaneer Arena this Saturday, February 13th, Saturday it will be the player's families turn to be recognized before the game and the players will skate with fans in a Post-game Skate.
The Buccaneers will get their first look at the Madison Capitols during the season. In their second season the Capitols currently sit in 8th in the Eastern Conference with a record of 16-20-2-2, and they host the Muskegon Lumberjacks on Wednesday and travel to take on the Omaha Lancers on Friday before arriving at Buccaneer Arena. The Capitols are led by Sam McCormick (19-15-34) in both goals and points and Daniel Willett (2-17-19) leads the defensemen in points. Madison has kept their goaltenders busy this season as the team has surrendered the most shots on goal this season with 1,357, and they're the only USHL team to have given up over 200 more shots on goal than they've taken (1,153). Their 129 goals surrendered is second to worst in the Eastern Conference behind only Team USA. It's the first of two meetings the Buccaneers have scheduled with Madison, the second being a road game at Alliant Energy Center on Saturday, March 19th.
