The New York Red Bulls opened the 2015 home portion of their schedule with a 2-0 shutout of rival D.C. United Sunday evening at Red Bull Arena. It was the first victory of the Jesse Marsch era as head coach of the Red Bulls.

New York owns the best home record in the MLS since the start of the 2012 season. The Red Bulls are 44-21-21 at Red Bull Arena since the start of the 2012 campaign. Los Angeles is second in the MLS (44-24-18) since the start of 2012 at home.

New York is 24-33-9 all-time against D.C. United, including a 14-13-5 mark at home.

New York is 4-1-1 against D.C. United over its last six home matches.

The last time D.C. United won at Red Bull Arena was a 1-0 victory on July 9, 2011.

Jesse Marsch is 2-1-1 all-time against D.C. United.

New York controlled the entire match - leading in possession 55.7-44.3, including a 66.1 possession percentage in the first half.

The Red Bulls outshot D.C. United 16-12 and totaled six corners, while allowing just one corner on the night.

Bradley Wright-Phillips scored his first goal of the season on a beautiful long pass from Dax McCarty in the 25th minute. Wright-Phillips also assisted on the Red Bulls second goal of the night from Lloyd Sam in the 71st minute.

Sam leads New York with two goals in as many games in 2015.

Luis Robles earned his 20th career shutout with five saves on the night. It was the 12th shutout at Red Bull Arena for Robles.

New York returns to action Saturday, March 28 at Columbus. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. with live television coverage on MSG2.
