Posa & Zabaneh Make College Choices

The Green Bay Gamblers announced on Wednesday that forwards Benito Posa and Nicholas Zabaneh have committed to Lake Superior State and Boston University. Both will begin their collegiate careers in the fall of 2020.

Posa was acquired by the Gamblers in January of 2019. In 30 games with the Gamblers last season, Post tallied 12 goals and eight assists. This season, the Flint, Michigan native has three goals and four assists in 20 games. Since coming into the league in 2017, Posa has appeared in 112 games for Green Bay, Central Illinois and Muskegon.

Zabaneh was selected by the Gamblers in the 2017 USHL Futures Draft. In his rookie campaign last year, the Toronto, Ontario Canada native appeared in 54 games, tallying 12 goals and 12 assists. This season, Zabaneh has appeared in 21 games, collecting three goals and eight assists.

Posa and Zabaneh join the following players on the 2019-2020 roster committed to NCAA Division 1 programs; Gavin Enright (Bemidji State), Noah Ganske (Northern Michigan), Xan Gurney (Western Michigan), Mason Lohrei (Ohio State), Dylan Moulton (Miami of Ohio), Tyler Paquette (Penn State), Nicolas Petruolo (Union), John Prokop (Providence), Jake Schmaltz (North Dakota), Alex Servagno (Ohio State), Braiden Simmons-Fischer (Western Michigan), Camden Thiesing (Ohio State), McKade Webster (Denver) Dalton Wright (Union) and Brady Ziemer (St. Cloud State).
