Stockton Ports News Release

STOCKTON, Calif.--The Stockton Ports second game in a four-game series at Banner Island Ballpark against the High Desert Mavericks was suspended after 8 complete innings, with the Mavericks with a 6-4 lead, due to a California League rule that stipulates that no inning can start after midnight.

The Ports will resume the game at 6:05 p.m. in the top of the ninth inning. Gates will open on Friday at 5:05 p.m. Game 3 of the four-game series will resume half an hour after the completion of Friday's suspended game.

Friday's regularly scheduled game began at 9:27 p.m. because the Ports had to complete Thursday's suspended game. That Thursday game was resumed at 6:05 p.m. on Friday and the game took a total of 7 hours and 34 minutes-a California League record-and the Ports dropped that game, 7-6 in 21 innings.
