One-Run Complete Game for Luebke

Lake Elsinore, CA- Going into the ninth inning of Friday night's game, Storm starting pitcher Cory Luebke was three outs away from a complete game shutout. Inland Empire centerfielder Trayvon Robinson led off the ninth with a double to left. With a fly out to left by Scott Van Slyke, Robinson advanced to third. After a walk to Pedro Baez, Luebke got first baseman Steven Caseres to fly out to deep right, scoring Robinson from third. Luebke ended the game strong however with his tenth punch-out of the game. Luebke advances to 6-2 on the season tying for second place in wins in the California League. Coming into Friday's contest, the 6-4 lefty had only allowed three runs in his last 30 innings pitched. Luebke also pitched for two streaks of no hit ball, one for 14 innings and then another for 12. Luebke is now tied for third in the league in strikeouts with 62.

Luebke was helped offensively with six runs from six different players. Storm third baseman Logan Forsythe went 1-3 with a two RBI double, while catcher Colt Morton hit a home run over the 425 foot marker in centerfield. The homer marks Morton's first of the year.
