FRESNO, Ca. - The Fresno Grizzlies hit three home runs and collected 14 total hits as the Ports lost their third in a row at Chukchansi Park, falling by the final of 9-2 on Thursday night.

It was Stockton's eighth straight defeat against the Grizzlies.

The Grizzlies (72-45) opened the scoring in the bottom of the second inning against Ports' starter Stevie Emanuels. After a leadoff walk Juan Brito got a big night started with a two-run homer to right field to give Fresno a 2-0 lead. Two batters later, Zach Kokoska followed suit with his second home run in as many nights, this time a solo shot to right field, to make it 3-0 Grizzlies.

In the top of the third inning the Ports (41-76) battled back. Cam Masterman and Dereck Salom drew back-to-back walks to start the inning and moved up to second and third, respectively, on a wild pitch by Fresno starter Brayan Castillo. With the infield back, Caeden Trenkle drove in Masterman with a groundball to second and CJ Rodriguez followed with a line drive single to center field to score Salom, cutting the Grizzly lead to 3-2.

After a scoreless third, Brito got the Grizzly offense going again with a leadoff single in the bottom of the fourth. After a lineout, wild pitch and a walk put runners on first and second, AJ Lewis grounded a single through the left side to score Brito from second base making it 4-2. Adael Amador followed a fielders' choice with a two-out single through the right side to bring Kokoska home to extend the Fresno lead to 5-2.

The Grizzlies delivered a backbreaking blow in the fifth inning. With two outs and nobody on, Brito doubled down the left field line and Braxton Fulford followed with a two-run homer to left field, giving the Grizzlies a 7-2 lead.

Fresno added single runs in the sixth and seventh, while three Grizzly relievers combined to retire the final eight Ports' hitters to end the ballgame.

Castillo (3-4) got the win for Fresno, allowing two runs on six hits over 5.2 innings while pitching around four wealks with five strikeouts. Emanuels (0-2) took the loss for the Ports surrendering seven runs on eight hits in five innings.

The Ports will look to snap their eight-game skid against the Grizzlies in game four of the series on Friday night at Chukchansi Park with first pitch at 7:05 pm.
