
Portland Pirates and Time Warner Cable Announce TV Series

PORTLAND, ME - The Portland Pirates and Time Warner Cable announced today a Saturday Night television series that will include eight live broadcasts of Pirates games throughout the state of Maine during the 2008-09 season.
In addition to the Pirates live broadcast schedule, the games will also be re-aired locally during the week on select dates and will be replayed on Time Warner Cable SportsNet-Buffalo, in Buffalo, New York. The Pirates first television game this Saturday, will be re-aired in the Buffalo market on Time Warner Cable SportsNet-Buffalo on Tuesday, October 28th at 7:00 p.m. and again on Thursday, October 30th at 8:30 p.m.
Through this relationship, the Portland Pirates, Buffalo Sabres and Time Warner Cable will continue develop television content to enhance the experience for hockey fans throughout the state of Maine. Time Warner Cable Sports will televise a minimum of eight regular-season games live on TWC-TV on the following dates:
Saturday, October 25 vs. Wilkes-Barre 7:00 p.m.
Saturday, November 15 vs. Providence 7:00 p.m.
Saturday, November 22 vs. Hartford 7:00 p.m.
Saturday, January 10 vs. Springfield 7:00 p.m.
Saturday, January 24 vs. Bridgeport 7:00 p.m.
Saturday, February 14 vs. Providence 7:00 p.m.
Saturday, February 28 vs. Hartford 7:00 p.m.
Saturday, March 21 vs. Hershey 7:00 p.m.
All games will be broadcast live starting at 7:00 p.m. on Time Warner Cable's TWC-TV (Channel 22 in Cumberland and York Counties and channel 9 or 12 in other areas). Time Warner Cable digital customers will also be able to watch the Pirates games at their leisure on Time Warner Cable's local TWC On Demand. Please check www.yourtownscable.com for availability.
The Pirates broadcast team will include "The Voice of the Pirates" Greg Glynn (play-by-play) and Ryan Messick (color) along with other contributing analysts and guests. The games will also be simulcast on the U.S. Cellular Pirates Radio Network.

The Pirates 16th AHL season continues this weekend with two exciting home games. On Friday, the Pirates host the Bridgeport Sound Tigers at 7:00 p.m. The Pirates welcome members of the Word of Life Christian Center and it will be Forecaster Friday Family Night. On Saturday night, Labatt Blue Light Hockey Night in Portland, the Pirates welcome the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins for the first meeting between the two teams since the 2008 Eastern Conference Finals. It will be Breast Cancer Awareness Night as the Pirates wear pink jerseys sponsored by Paradigm Window Solutions. This will be the first of eight games televised on Time Warner Cable Sports this season. Game time is set for 7:00 p.m.
