
Portland Grabs Series Finale

The Portland Beavers won the final game of their four-game series against the Oklahoma RedHawks 12-4 Friday night at AT&T Bricktown Ballpark. After losing the first three games, the Beavers hit three homers to salvage the finale of the series.
Portland (43-64) scored two runs on two hits in the third inning to take a 2-0 lead. They added a run in the second and two in the third to build a 5-1 lead.
The Beavers blew the game open with a two-run homer from Pete Laforest in the seventh, and homers from Drew Macias (2-run) and Yordany Ramirez (solo) in the eighth. The Beavers finished the night with 15 hits.
Oklahoma (53-51) scored three runs in the bottom of the ninth on four hits to make the final score 12-4. Guillermo Quiroz led the way for the RedHawks by going 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI.
Mike Thompson (3-9) earned the win, allowing one run on six hits over eight innings. Mike Wood (8-3) took the loss allowing, five runs (four earned) on nine hits in 4.1 innings.
Oklahoma hosts Tacoma Saturday at 7:05 pm CDT at AT&T Bricktown Ballpark. The Beavers travel to New Orleans for a 6:00 pm CDT game.
