Porter Jr. Earns NBA G League Player of the Week for Week 3

EDINBURG, Texas - The NBA G League announced today that Houston Rockets assignee Kevin Porter Jr. earned G League Player of the Week for Week 3 - Feb. 22 through Feb. 28.

Porter Jr. has averaged 27.5 points, 8.5 rebounds, 7.0 assists and 2.0 steals in the last four Vipers games. He has shot 47.6% from the field, 32.4% from behind the arc and 85.7% from the free throw line.

The 6-4-foot guard recorded the first triple-double of 2021 NBA G League competition and for the Vipers as he totaled 27 points, 11 rebounds, 14 assists in win over Erie BayHawks on Feb. 25. He shot 45.8% from the field and 50.0% from the free throw line. The next day, Porter Jr. notched a double-double with 29 points, 10 rebounds adding six assists in second consecutive win over Canton Charge.

In addition, the Rockets assignee leads the G League in points per game (24.3), total points (292), total assists (83) and stands second in most assists in a game (14) and third with 6.9 assists per game.
