Knicks Acquire Festus Ezeli from Available Player Pool
March 2, 2021 - NBA G League (G League)
Westchester Knicks News Release
WHITE PLAINS, NY - The Westchester Knicks, the official NBA G League affiliate of the New York Knicks, announced the acquisition of Festus Ezeli from the Available Player Pool Tuesday morning. Ezeli's signing completes Westchester's roster following the departure of Tra-Deon Hollins, who left the single site for personal reasons.
Ezeli, 6'11 265, a former 30th overall pick in the 2012 NBA Draft, arrives to the Knicks following a multi-year hiatus away from the NBA. Ezeli spent four years with the Golden State Warriors (2012-16) where he also appeared for the Santa Cruz Warriors for rehabilitation purposes. He was a part of the 2015 Golden State Warriors Championship team. The following season, Ezeli helped the Warriors win an NBA record 73 games to eclipse the 72 wins set by the 1995-96 Chicago Bulls.
He also played for the Portland Trailblazers in 2016-17.
Ezeli will be wearing jersey no. 20. JJ Moore will now be wearing jersey no. 44.
Westchester (6-6) battles Memphis today, March 2 at 7:30 PM ET.
