KPJ'S WEEK: Houston Rockets assignment player Kevin Porter Jr. (left) was named the NBA G League Player of the Week for games played Monday, Feb. 22 through Sunday, Feb. 28. The 6-4 guard averaged 27.5 points, 8.5 rebounds and 7.0 assists and recorded the first triple-dou- ble of the 2021 NBA G League season with 27 points, 14 assists and 11 rebounds for the Rio Grande Valley Vipers in a 124-113 victory over the top-seeded Erie BayHawks.
SIZZLING SANTA CRUZ: The Santa Cruz Warriors enter Week 4 on an eight-game winning streak. Led by Golden State Warriors assignment player Jordan Poole (22.4 ppg, 5.3 rpg) and Warriors two-way player Nico Mannion (19.3 ppg, 6.9 apg), Santa Cruz now sits near the top of the standings. Poole and Mannion have returned to Golden State.
SATURDAY NIGHT THRILLER: On Saturday, Feb. 27, NBA G League Ignite defeated the Canton Charge 113-112 in dramatic fashion when Ignite forward Isaiah Todd connected on a buzzer-beat- ing jumper. Canton guard Sheldon Mac scored 18 points in the fourth quarter.
The 2021 NBA G League Playoffs tip on Monday, March 8 and conclude with the NBA G Final presented by YouTube TV on March 11. The top eight teams will advance to the single-elimination playoff. With a 126-91 victory over Greensboro on Sunday, the Erie BayHawks became the only team to have clinched a playoff spot thus far. With seven playoff spots still up for grabs, Week 4 is shaping up to be an exciting stretch.
TOP PERFORMANCES FROM WEEK 3
Raptors 905 forward Alize Johnson averaged 21.9 points, 15.8 rebounds and 6.5 assists in four games as Raptors 905 went undefeated in Week 3.
New Orleans Pelicans two-way player Naji Marshall registered 28 points and six rebounds as the Erie BayHawks defeated the Fort Wayne Mad Ants 106-103 on Feb. 23.
On Feb. 24, Canton Charge guard Sheldon Mac scored 36 points and grabbed eight rebounds in a 101-90 win over the Lakeland Magic. Sacramento Kings assignment player Robert Woodard II recorded a double-double of 28 points and 17 rebounds to lead the Aus- tin Spurs back from a 23-point deficit past the Iowa Wolves 108-04 on Feb. 25.
NBA G League Ignite guard Jalen Green tallied 26 points and connected on six three-pointers during Ignite's 113-112 victory over Canton on Feb. 27.
