Wednesday, March 1, 2006 at Kalamazoo Flags 0 Kalamazoo 5

Luca Drake opened scoring for the Kalamazoo Wings with a goal at 14:42 of the first period in Wednesday's 5-0 shutout at Wings Stadium. He went on to score a hat trick with two powerplay goals in the final period of the game.

Also scoring for the Wings were Kory Karlander and UHL Player of the Month Jason Dietsch.

Kalamazoo out-shot the Flags 44-22 with Jeremy Symington earning 39 saves.

Saturday, March 4, 2006 at Fort Wayne Flags 1 Fort Wayne 4

The Fort Wayne Komets dominated the first period as Lance Galbraith scored twice at 6:11 and 15:21, respectively. David Hukalo scored unassisted at 18:48, putting the Komets up 3-0 to end the first.

Steve Dix answered at 12:49 in the second with a powerplay goal, his third of the season, to put the Flags on the scoreboard for the first and only time in the contest.

Brent Rumble scored on a powerplay at 18:13 in the second period to seal the win. Neither team scored for the rest of the game.

Fort Wayne out-shot the Flags 47-26 with Scott Hay picking up 43 saves.

Sunday, March 5, 2006 vs Muskegon Muskegon 6 Flags 2

The Flags held top-ranked Muskegon Fury to zero as neither team scored in the first period.

Jeff Petruicchanged that by scoring for the Fury 1:21 into the second period followed by Ryan Keller with an unassisted goal at 2:42.

Ryan Keller scored again at 9:39 in the second before Trevor Edwards answered at 11:12 to bring the Flags within two but Muskegon Center Todd Robinson scored at 16:24 to make it 4-1 Fury heading into the third.

Bill Zaba put Muskegon up by for early in the third period at 58 seconds, putting the Fury up 5-1 before Petr Jelinek scoredfor the Flags at 5:59 to make it 5-2.

Muskegon Center Billy Collins sealed the win for the Fury with a goal at 9:43 to end the game 6-2 Muskegon.

Both teams calculated 30 shots on goal with Scott Hay earning 24 saves on the loss to bring his season total to 1,476 to place him second behind Rod Branch of the Motor City Mechanics.

The Flags head to the Mark of the Quad for the third and final time this season on Wednesday to Face the Mallards. The Flags are 2-1-0 against the Quad City Mallards.

Friday, March 10, 2006 at Flint

The Flags head to Perani Arena and Event Center in Flint, Michigan for the final time this season to face-off against Port Huron rival Flint Generals. The Flags are 2-4-2 against the Generals.

Saturday, March 11, 2006 at Kalamazoo

The Flags head to Wings Stadium to play the Kalamazoo Wings. The Flags are 1-6-1 in the series against the K-Wings.

Flags Notes:

Aaron Brand, Jaako Kallio, Scott Horvath, Brett Lutes and Greg Snitowski remain on Injured Reserve. Logan Hunter remains suspended until March 18, 2006.

Ryan Markham and Shayne Tomlinson are back in action after almost two months of recovery from injuries.

The Flags welcome Jake Laime back to the active roster.

Flags Leaders:

Brett Lutes leads the team with 50 points (22g, 28a). He still leads the league in shootout goals with 9 out of 14 attempts for an average of .642 and is tied for third in powerplay goals with 15.

Aaron Brand is tied for first in the UHL for game high powerplay goals with three.

Scott Hay leads the league in shootout wins with nine and ranks second in saves in the UHL with 1,476 saves.

Sean Regan is tied for first among UHL defenseman with three shootout goals.
