
Ponies' Bats Stay Hot In Saturday Night Victory Over Fisher Cats

MANCHESTER, N.H. - The Binghamton Rumble Ponies (26-23, 61-57) raced to an early lead and defeated the New Hampshire Fisher Cats 9-4 on Saturday night at Delta Dental Stadium. Binghamton has taken four of the first five games in the series.
In the first, JT Schwartz hit an RBI double to left that scored Luisangel Acuña and gave the Ponies' an early 1-0 lead. With the bases loaded in the second, Drew Gilbert's RBI single to right put Binghamton up 2-0. That brought up Schwartz, who promptly delivered again with a two-run single to right that made it 4-0. Jeremiah Jackson's sacrifice fly capped off a four-run inning and put Binghamton up 5-0.
Schwartz finished 3-for-5 on the night with three RBIs, two doubles, and a run scored. He now has seven RBIs over the last two games.
Jeremiah Jackson added an RBI single in the fourth and Acuña lined an RBI single to center in the sixth to extend the lead to 7-1. Jackson now has an 11-game hitting streak and has reached base in 20 of his first 21 games with the Rumble Ponies.
In the sixth, Agustin Ruiz launched a two-run homer to right to make it 9-1. Ruiz has now homered three times in the series, four times over the last week, and has 17 home runs for the season.
Binghamton starter David Griffin (2-1) earned the win allowing four runs over five and two third innings.
The Rumble Ponies conclude the season series against the Fisher Cats (19-29, 54-62) on Sunday afternoon with first pitch at 1:35 p.m. and the NYCM Insurance pregame show getting underway at 1:20 p.m. on the WNBF Rumble Ponies Radio Network.
Postgame Notes: Acuña, Jackson, and Ruiz all had multi-hit games...Rylan Thomas had two hits in his Double-A debut...The Rumble Ponies out-hit the Fisher Cats 15-4.
