Williamsport Crosscutters News Release

With two outs in the top of the eleventh inning, Brian Pointer sent a deep fly ball to right-center field to triple home Yan Carlos Olmo. Geoff Broussard then came on and notched the save in a 6-5 Crosscutters win over Auburn.

Roman Quinn was electrifying again, going 3-for-5 with a triple and three runs. He scored the first run of the game in the first inning on a Larry Greene single up the middle.

Tied at one in the second, Olmo doubled to lead off the inning and was scored on a Chace Numata groundout. Numata had a strong night, going 2-for-6 with two doubles and an RBI.

Then, down 3-2 in the fifth, Cameron Perkins doubled to score Numata and Quinn. Perkins also extended the lead to 5-3 in the seventh. After Quinn led off with his league-leading fifth triple, Perkins sent a groundball single to right. Perkins reached five times on the night and went 3-for-4 with three RBI.

Kevin Brady made his Cutters debut and was in line for the win with two scoreless innings, but Jeb Stefan blew the lead in the seventh.

Chris Nichols bridged the gap to the eleventh inning, where Pointer's triple put the Cutters on top, and Geoff Broussard got the save, stranding the tying run at third base.

The win is Williamsport's second in three games and moves their record to 11-18. They play the second game of a back-to-back with Auburn tomorrow at 7:05. Every Cutters game can be heard on ESPN Radio 104.1 FM, ESPN 1050 AM, or online at crosscutters.com.
