ROCHESTER, Minn. - Colin Poche shrugged off a difficult start to claim his fourth victory of the season, helping the Stingers snap a three-game skid in the process. The left-hander out of Arkansas gave up a double and a home run in the bottom of the 1st inning, but bounced back to record ten strikeouts in 7.0 innings pitched as the Stingers offense pieced together a hardscrabble effort that spoiled an excellent effort by Honkers starter Nick Dolsky. The 3-2 victory begins a daunting seven-game road streak that will take the Stingers into the franchise first interleague series against the Green Bay Bull Frogs.

The Stingers offense cracked onto the board in the 4th inning when Colton Bottomley (Florida Gulf Coast) laced his second base hit of the game to plate Marc Flores (Hawaii). After a passed ball, a Logan Moon (Missouri Southern) groundout scored Max Kuhn (Kentucky) to tie the game at 2-2.

Poche dazzled the fans in attendance at Mayo Field and baffled opposing batters throughout the game. "When you have a good pitcher out there, they're a good pitcher for a reason," said Manager Matt Hollod. "If they give up runs early they're going to bear down."

And bear down he did in the 7th inning, maintaining a 3-2 lead in vexing fashion. Following a leadoff walk, a single and another walk, Poche dug deep to strike out the next two batters, leaving the bases loaded and his lead intact. For his Herculean efforts, Poche gets the nod for CDI player of the game.

Three pitchers out of the bullpen combined to close out the game for the Stingers. Bobby McCormack (Baylor) pitched 0.2 innings, Cody Hughes (Montevallo) pitched an inning and Bret Dahlson recorded the final out to preserve the 3-2 victory. The save was Dahlson's (Loyola-Marymount) 11th of the season.
