Dubuque Fighting Saints News Release

DUBUQUE, IA- Playoff hockey between two rivals continues this weekend in Dubuque. After each team earned a win in the first two games of the Eastern Conference Semifinals last weekend, the best-of-five playoff series between the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders and Dubuque Fighting Saints shifts to The Key City for a pair of games this weekend. Game 3 is Friday night at 7:35 p.m. and is presented by Dubuque Fire Equipment and media partner Xtreme 107.1. The first 3,000 fans through the doors Friday night will score a Fighting Saints playoff pom-pom. Saturday's Game 4 will provide one team with a chance to take the series, and will be presented by Exceptional Dentistry-Dr. Ted Murray and Dr. Kristen Berning, as well as media partner 101.1 The River. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:05 p.m.

With the RoughRiders holding the second seed in the Eastern Conference, Cedar Rapids had home ice advantage in the best-of-five playoff series with Dubuque and hosted Games 1 and 2 last weekend. Dubuque drew first blood in the series, earning a 2-1 victory in Game 1 Friday night thanks to a stingy defensive performance. Game 2 on Saturday saw Cedar Rapids jump out to a 5-0 lead, but Dubuque battled back to even the score, before surrendering the winning goal late in a 6-5 loss. Now with the series tied 1-1, Dubuque returns back to the Mystique Community Ice Center where they held a 20-9-1 record during the regular season.

Dubuque is looking to become the first team in 20 years to win back-to-back Clark Cup Championships, and the crowd will be rallying the Fighting Saints on Friday by shaking their pom-poms. As the first 3,000 fans enter the arena Friday night, they will receive a red and white Fighting Saints playoff pom-pom, courtesy of Dubuque Fire Equipment. The pom-pom features the Fighting Saints and Dubuque Fire Equipment logos, and are perfect to wave following Fighting Saints goals.

During an intermission on Friday, media partner Xtreme 107.1 will present a "Rapid-Fire Contest." Contestants have been selected via contests on the radio over the last week and will take the ice to attempt to score the most goals in an allotted amount of time. The lucky winner will take home a $107 Family Beer & Liquor gift certificate.

Saturday's game will be critical, as the winner of Friday's game will have a chance to win the best-of-five series in Game 4. Saturday evening's contest is sponsored by Exceptional Dentistry-Dr. Ted Murray and Dr. Kristen Berning, located on 4200 Asbury Road. Throughout the evening, fans will have a chance to take home prize packs courtesy of Exceptional Dentistry.

Both Conference Semifinals home games feature an opportunity for fans to purchase the popular "Fun for 40!" ticket package. Starting at just $40 when purchased in advance, the package includes four Ice Box tickets, four chuck-a-pucks and two passes to the Fighting Saints Kids Zone.

Party Zones and Party Suites are available for both Conference Semifinals home games, and the Fighting Saints have special group ticket packages for the series starting at just ten people.

The Fighting Saints are asking Season Ticket Holders who have signed up for "Pay As We Play" to help pack the Mystique Community Ice Center for home games during the Eastern Conference Semifinals. Season Ticket Holders may use their season ticket discount to bring family and friends and receive great rewards.

Tickets are available to both games this weekend by calling 563.583.6880, or by visiting DubuqueFightingSaints.com. Tickets, including great seats in the Center Section, or Front Row glass seats, are available for both Games 3 & 4.
