THE MATCHUP

The #2 South Carolina Stingrays continue the 2016 Kelly Cup Playoffs as the best-of-seven Eastern Conference Quarterfinals series with the #7 Kalamazoo Wings shifts to the North Charleston Coliseum. South Carolina took two of three games in Kalamazoo, and leads the series, 2-1. The Stingrays won Game 1 last Friday by a score of 4-1, and took Game 2 with a 5-2 win last Saturday. Kalamazoo battled back with a 5-3 win on Monday. The remainder of the series will be played at the North Charleston Coliseum with Game 5 Saturday, and if necessary, Game 6 on Sunday and Game 7 on Tuesday. The Stingrays are the all-time ECHL leader in playoff victories and are tied for the most Kelly Cup Championships with three. This is the second time the Stingrays and Wings have met in the postseason with the first meeting coming in the Conference Semifinals in 2012. The Wings took that series, 4-1.

DEVIN IS A GAMER

When it comes to the postseason, South Carolina forward Joe Devin elevates his game. The forward has notched four points (two goals, two assists) in three playoff games so far. Last postseason, Devin provided several memorable moments, including scoring the 3OT goal that sent the Stingrays to the Kelly Cup Finals. During the 2015 Kelly Cup playoffs, he notched 13 goals and 16 points in 27 postseason games.

HOME ICE IS NICE

Tonight is South Carolina's first home game since April 2. The club went 21-7-5-3 at the North Charleston Coliseum during the regular season. The Stingrays are 58-42 on home ice all-time during the playoffs.

MR. ASSIST

Forward David Pacan has notched four points, all assists, so far this postseason. Pacan ended the regular season with 10 of his 12 points in the months of March and April coming as assists. He finished the season as the team leader in assists with 42, and points with 62.

BOOSTING SPECIAL TEAMS

While the Stingrays finished fourth in power play in the regular season (19.6%) and first in penalty kill (87.5%), the club will look for a special teams boost on home ice. So far in the series the Stingrays are just 1-for-10 (10%) on the power play. The club is at a mark of 78.6% on the penalty kill, allowing three power play goals.

KELLY CUP EXPERIENCE

The Stingrays enter the playoffs with plenty of postseason experience. Six players of the Stingrays' roster were part of the team's run to the Kelly Cup Finals last season, including Derek DeBlois who finished third on the team with 29 points, and Joe Devin, who scored 13 goals in the playoffs. The club also has Bobby Shea on the roster who won a Kelly Cup in 2013 with the Reading Royals.

ADIRONDACK ON TAP

The winner of the best-of-seven series between #2 South Carolina and #7 Kalamazoo will play the #6 Adirondack Thunder in the Eastern Conference Semifinals. The Thunder won their opening round series 4-1 over the #3 Manchester Monarchs.
