Pittsburgh Xplosion re-sign Coleco Buie

PITTSBURGH, September 20, 2006 - The Pittsburgh Xplosion announced today that Coleco Buie agreed to a contract extension for the 2006-07 season, pending league approval.

A finalist for the ABA Player of the Year award in his first year with the Xplosion, Buie was an All-ABA Honorable Mention selection after averaging 21.0 points and 4.0 assists per game. The ABA All-Star guided the team to an 18-12 record and the Second Round of the League playoffs.

"Coleco was a key player for us during our first season," stated Xplosion CEO Richard Hersperger. "He's a veteran and we're happy to have someone with his experience back on board."

Buie, who set a team record with 50 points in a win over the Kentucky Colonels, has competed professionally in Austria, Spain, France and Argentina, as well as in the ABA and IBL. He played college ball at Southwest Missouri State University, averaging 13.4 points during his career.

The Xplosion will hold its final Western Pennsylvania open tryout camp for the 2006-07 season on Saturday, September 30. The tryout camp will run from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM and be conducted at the team's practice facility located in the Club 4 Life in Monroeville, Pa. The registration fee for the tryout camp is $125.
