Cape Cod Frenzy News Release

September 20, 2006 - Orleans, Massachusetts: The Cape Cod Frenzy of the American Basketball Association have announced their first player for their inaugural season: 6'0 point guard Steve Hailey.

"We are ecstatic with our first signing to say the least," exclaimed Frenzy GM Ian McCarthy, "Steve enables us to compete with the best point guards in the ABA and we look forward to showcasing his skills to the fans of Cape Cod, and to the League".

The former Boston College Eagle was a major part of B.C.'s 2004-2005 season, when the team compiled at 20-0 start and a top five national ranking. Hailey, a native of Dorchester, Massachusetts was a highly recruited point guard coming out of prep school at Worcester Academy. He was ranked in the top 65 prep players in the country in the same class as Lebron James. Hailey was also a member of AAU powerhouse BABC (Boston Amateur Basketball Club) coached by Celtics Director of Scouting Leo Papile. He averaged 38 points and 8 assists per game in the Boston Pro Summer League at Mass Art this past summer.

The Frenzy plans to sign the remainder of their 2006-2007 roster in early October, following the Veteran's Camp scheduled for 9/30 and 10/1. For more information contact Frenzy GM Ian McCarthy at ian@capecodfrenzy.com or visit www.capecodfrenzy.com or www.abalive.com.
