
Pittsburgh Xplosion Face New Opponent, Toledo Ice, Friday, December 2 at Mellon Arena

PITTSBURGH, Dec. 1, 2005 -- The Pittsburgh Xplosion, the city's new ABA basketball team, announced today that it will play the Toledo Ice this Friday, Dec. 2, at Mellon Arena, at 7 p.m.
The originally scheduled opponent, the Kentucky Colonels, will play the Xplosion at a later date. The Toledo Ice are coached by former Detroit Piston Melvin Newbern.
The Xplosion enter tomorrow night's game against division rival Toledo with a record of 3-4. The Xplosion lost 107-93 to the Detroit Wheels last night at Mellon Arena, as Pittsburgh's Armon Gilliam led all players with 29 points.
The Xplosion will get a chance to even the score when the Wheels return to Pittsburgh for a rematch on Wednesday, Dec. 7 at the Petersen Events Center, at 7 p.m. All students showing a college ID at the Petersen Events Center Box Office will receive a general admission ticket for just $5.
