Tycoons withdraw from ABA

December 1, 2005 - American Basketball Association (ABA)
Texas Tycoons News Release

The Texas Tycoons today announced that the franchise will no longer play in the American Basketball Association.

"By no means are we leaving the league on bad terms. Our owner, Charles Key and I have the utmost respect for the ABA, it's place in basketball history, and the opportunity that it provides. We wish Joe, Ricardo, and each ABA franchise continued success. We are concerned about a number of things which we have discussed directly with the league office and will not air our sentiment publicly. You never know, with a few league-wide adjustments we could return, " stated Mike Senters, President of Key Sports Management.

The Tycoons, a playoff team the previous ABA season, currently have a record of 3-0 and are ranked 3rd in the ABA power ranking report.

The team would like to thank its current and former players, coaches, fans and sponsors for their support. Special thanks to Willa Gibson and Birdville ISD.
