Pitlick Named to United States Junior A Challenge Team

Plymouth, MI - The Muskegon Lumberjacks are proud to announce that forward Rem Pitlick has been selected by the United States to participate for the National Junior Team in the upcoming 2015 World Junior A Challenge held December 13th -19th in Whitby, Ontario.

The University of Minnesota commit is in his second season in the USHL, and his first season with the Lumber- jacks. He has appeared in all 12 games for the Lumberjacks this season, and is leading the team in scoring with five goals and six assists. Pitlick is the third player in Lumberjacks history to represent the United States in the World Junior A Challenge joining last year's selections Christian Wolanin and Eric Schierhorn.

Lumberjacks equipment manager Jason Smits will also be making the trip to Whitby. Smits was invited back for the second straight year, after a successful trip with the Team last year in Kindersley, Saskatchewan.

The United States Team will feature 20 players, all from various USHL clubs. Of the 20 players, 19 are com- mitted to play Division 1 College Hockey. The U.S. squad has participated in this tournament for the past nine years, medaling each year, with six of those being Gold.

The Lumberjacks will return home this weekend for a series with the Eastern Conference leading Dubuque Fighting Saints. The Lumberjacks will support local Muskegon Veterans Friday, November 20th, for Military Appreciation Night. On Saturday, November 21st, L.C. Walker Arena will feature plenty of family fun when the Lumberjacks host Faith and Family night sponsored by JQ99.
