
Pitching Dominates DoubleDays

Williamsport Crosscutters News Release
For the second-straight night, the Crosscutters pitching staff combined to shutout the Auburn DoubleDays. First back-to-back shutouts for the Cutters since August 23rd of last season (doubleheader against Auburn).
Starter Jhordany Mezquita was dominate in his debut, tossing five shutout innings, striking out six DoubleDays batters while not allowing a walk in a no decision.
Rafael Marchan plated the go-ahead run in the 8th inning, finishing the night 2 for 4 with an RBI. Bel Pelletier added the insurance run in the 8th , finishing 2 for 4 with a double and a RBI.
Abdallah Aris tossed three innings of shutout relief allowing one hit while striking out two in his 1st win of the season. Luis Ramirez closed out the game, tossing a shutout 9th inning, striking out two and earning his 2nd save of the season.
Crosscutters starting pitching has not allowed a run over their last 22 innings of work, dating back to June 16th against the State College Spikes.
