Traverse City Pit Spitters News Release

Kenosha, WI - The Traverse City Pit Spitters blew another late lead to the Kenosha Kingfish and fell 10-9 in extra innings, their fourth straight loss.

The Pit Spitters went up 2-0 in the first on a steal of home and a single from Camden Traficante. But the Kingfish would respond with one run in the first and three in the second to go up 4-2.

Colin Summerhill doubled home a run in the fifth, but once again Kenosha would answer with a three-run bottom of the fifth. However, the Pit Spitters wouldn't back down.

Five straight two out walks in the sixth set up a big comeback. With bases loaded Summerhill struck again, this time with a three-run bases clearing triple, giving Traverse City the lead back at 8-7.

Kenosha hit a leadoff home run in the ninth so send the game to extra innings. With the bases loaded in the bottom of the 10th, Hunter Tabb got a ground ball at first. He stepped on first for one and threw home for a double play, but Dallas Duarte didn't tag the runner, thinking the force out was still on. Kenosha tied the game and went on to walk it off in the 11th.

The Pit Spitters continue the road trip with a series in Wausau against the Wisconsin Woodchucks. First pitch will be 6:35 CT.
