Portland Pirates News Release

Portland, Me.- The Portland Pirates held their annual Teddy Bear Toss game on Friday, December 12, 2014. After the first Pirates goal of the game, fans threw six hundred and twenty teddy bears and stuffed animals onto the ice to donate to children at the Barbara Bush Children's Hospital in Portland.

Portland Pirates players will be on hand on Tuesday, December 16 at 2:30 p.m., to deliver the stuffed animals in person. The Pirates make monthly visits to the hospital to meet with young fans, but are excited to make their trip during the holiday season extra special.

"We would like to thank all the fans that made a contribution to this event. Together with the player's personal delivery of the toys it will be sure to make for a great holiday gift for the children," said Portland Pirates COO Brad Church.
