
Wolves Recall Longpre and Sign Register to PTO

The Chicago Wolves announced Monday that they have recalled forward NATHAN LONGPRE from loan to Kalamazoo (ECHL) and signed defenseman MATTHEW REGISTER to a Professional Tryout contract (PTO).
LONGPRE, 26, has spent parts of the last three seasons with the Wolves, accruing 50 points (18G, 32A) in 158 games. The forward has posted 16 points (7G, 9A) in 22 appearances with the K-Wings this season, his first stint in the ECHL.
The Peterborough, Ontario, native has totaled 57 points (23G, 34A) in 190 career games in the American Hockey League with Worcester (2010-11), Springfield (2011-12), Peoria (2012-13), and Chicago (2011-present). He turned pro in 2010-11 following a four-year collegiate career at Robert Morris University.
REGISTER, 25, will join the Wolves for his second stretch with the team this season after earning a PTO out of training camp and remaining on the roster until Oct. 22. He did not appear in a game.
The Calgary native has collected 19 points (4G, 15A) and a +4 plus/minus rating in 22 games with the Ontario Reign (ECHL) this season. He has accrued 76 points (22G, 54A) in 106 career ECHL games, all with Ontario, and was named the ECHL Defenseman of the Year and to the First All-Star Team in 2013-14 under the tutelage of then-Reign assistant coach MARK HARDY .
Additionally the blueliner has compiled 20 points (3G, 17A) in 73 games in the CHL with Allen (2011-12), Tulsa (2012-13), and Arizona (2012-13).
